am I trusting?

Tuesday, November 08, 2011

I do a short, simple meeting at a nursing home in town on Tuesdays. Mostly i think of the meetings as mindless. I hand out songbooks, I lead songs using the CD player, I pick up songbooks, I talk for a couple minutes, I thank them all and leave.

Well, today we were singing "Are You Washed in the Blood?" and the words hit me hard.

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the lamb?
Are you fully trusting in his grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blook of the lamb?

Are you walking daily by the Savior's side?
Are you washed in the blood of the lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the lamb?

Now, I won't discuss doctrine or whether this song is theologically accurate. What struck me were the questions "Are you fully trusting in his grace this hour?" and "Do you rest each moment in the crucified?"

This is so important to me. Am I really fully trusting God for everything? Am I conscously seeking out his direction for my life? Am I obeying him completely?

I have days where I feel like this and God always has a way of showing me how much I am following HIM. Just by being at that home you are doing work for HIM and I know you are touching lives everytime you go so as it may seem minimal as collecting song books and singing to someone or several int hat group in means alot to them. And as long as you are doing it to honor Him then you are headed in the right direction.

This is a good question. We know that when we trust in God and seek him first he will give us the desires of our heart. So if you are questioning whether you are then you probably be are. The devil loves to make us feel like we arent doing enough for God. Remember our heavenly father convicts us not condemn. emoticon
