Life goes on

Monday, November 07, 2011

So it's been a bad year for me, healthy/weight wise. I've put on 30 pounds and lost most my good habits. I have a wonderful new boyfriends who likes to treat and feed me. I had 3 mono which kept me away from all physical activity from December - April. My mother had 2 back surgeries which didn't go well and kept all my time in the hospital taking care of her. Then I injured my toe which has kept me out of shoes and the gym for about 3 months.

Needless to say, when things get off course so much, it's not hard to let everything else slip. Such as my eating habits. And that's even harder to break than getting back into any kind of workout routine.

So my plan now is to get rid of these 30 pounds I've gained which make me feel awful. I was finally feeling good about myself last year, and now it's like falling back 3 years. :( It's horrible!

So I want to get back to Curves Monday, Wednesday, Friday and do my strength training. I want to get back to my other gym and was doing the bike, but now I think running or something on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. This is still hard for me because I'm doing weights in socks and running/biking in flip flops as my toe is not completely healed yet, it'll still be a while.

I know it's not going to happen.. but if I can get rid of this weight by the end of the year I'll be extremely happy. But alas, my calendar has tricked its way into November.

Any tips/ideas/advice from others who have gone the wrong way? I know the up and down weight is not just my issue.

Hope everyone here is good!

It's so easy to fall back into those bad health habits that we've nurtured for most of our lives . . . and so hard to break them again! But you can do this!

Try to set realistic goals and settle in your mind that this needs to be a lifelong lifestyle change, not just a quick fix to get rid of extra pounds.

Take it easy on that foot, you don't want to damage it any further!

When we make strides in an area it is normal for the you-know-what to hit the fan and splatter us. That is simply the way it goes. This next time you know how you reacted before when you achieved. You are now more prepared.

You CAN do this.
