I'm so very excited to see my results. Sometimes it hard for me to tell if I have lost weight and it's wonderful to see my progress in number and clothes. It's amazing- I've never been more motivated to stay on track before and I'm enjoying the journey.
When I look back at my past attempts to stay on track I realize that I just set myself up to fail. Before I would set goals like 'lose 5 lbs this week' or 'lose 1 size per month.' Now, I realize that my goals should focus more on living a healthier lifestyle verses just trying to get into a smaller size. It's been 3 months (August - October) and I'm ecstatic at what I have accomplished. My weight loss has been steady; I'm enjoying everything; I'm motivating others to live healthier; I'm learning to appreciate the little victories.
This time around I set smaller goals focusing on health such as: exercise each day for a month; drink 96oz or more of water daily, eat every 2-3 hours. Each month I build on top of the previous month. One of the best accomplishments so far is that I have helped a co-workout to lose 10lbs the healthy way verses her starving herself. Who would have thought I could help someone lose weight when I still have a ways to go to get to my goal?
What have you learned from your past dieting mistakes?
