What has Sparkpeople done for me? I found this site through another site. A couple of weeks earlier I tried to enter another "free" diet site. The other site needless to say was not free. When you got to the diet they wanted money. My first clue that there would be an issue with that site was when they asked what my goal weigh was. Then they said "Oh no, this is what you should weigh".
So when I saw Sparkpeople, I thought "Yeah, right" , but something pushed me on to enroll. My goal weight was accepted without comment. Oh, maybe this site will work for me, I thought. Then I got to the diet and it was free! Not only was it free, it seemed reasonable. It gave me a range for all nutrients and calories. This seemed promising.
Then I found the food tracker. What a shock when I saw the total calories that I was eating! The next shock was what a portion size really was. I lost weight just by measuring what I ate. I never believed in the food diary. Then you had to figure out the calories. With Sparks they do the calculations for you. What a difference the food tracker has made for me. Even on a 10 day vacation this summer, I tracked most of what I ate. I found out that I could go out to eat 2-3 times a day and be close to my calorie needs. Did I go over sometimes? Of course but not near as badly as I would have before I found Sparks.
Well I think this is enough for tonight. Maybe I will continue tomorrow.
Have a Great evening. emoticon
