Dear Fat Suit, emoticon

I call you a suit because that's just what you are; a covering to hide the real me. I have kept you on for far too long. I've used you to hide behind, to deflect emotions, to cover up low self-esteem and low self-worth. I've used you as an excuse to be lazy, to hide from people for fear of judgment. I've used you as a barrier to make myself unattractive to keep from getting hurt by unwanted people. Enough is enough. I have no small mind and no small voice. I can stand up for myself and shout my worth to those who would question it.

There are things that I want to do in life that I cannot do with you hanging on me anymore. I want to be active, healthy and attractive! Without you, Fat Suit, I will no longer fear the harness that keeps me from rock climbing, the size of the canoe or roller coaster seat. I will not fear that hot, sexy, little black dress, or that adorable bathing suit. Without you, I will use makeup and not be afraid to be seen. I will believe that a hot guy would actually hit on me because he likes me and not because it's a cruel joke. I will not shy from the camera. Instead I will look for photo opportunities and smile with all my might.

emoticon It is time to take you off, slowly but surely, one layer at a time. I know this will take time, and I know you will put up a fight and cling for dear life, but we have to say goodbye. My son needs me now. He needs a mother to play with, a mother who can lead by GOOD example and be there for years to come. I just can't do that with you dragging me down.

Motivation has introduced me to a new family of friends. Their names are Lifestyle and Exercise, and they will replace you Fat Suit. Before you go, you can introduce Whole Foods to Fast Food since he will be leaving with you. Exercise can handle both Apathy and Laziness, and even their love child, Procrastination. He will also bring with him Energy and Fulfillment. Accomplishment and Pride will follow soon.

We've been together for many years now, Fat Suit. Unfortunately for you I am kicking ass and taking names and YOURS is the first to go!
