Getting serious about downsizing....

Tuesday, November 01, 2011

Ran across this slideshow and thought I'd share.
I would think it fun to have one of these on some acreage away from the madding crowd for a weekend retreat or even as a place to spend a summer....

Those were wild! I have too much stuff -- the music instruments would take up too much space -- and kids, where does all their stuff go? Still, it would be easy to clean! I liked the round tree house.

I love these tiny homes. Bob and I have even talkied of getting one and buying some land and seriously downsizing. Maybe in a couple different places! I love that Zero house too! But,not for $350,000! Thanks for reigniting my dream! emoticon emoticon emoticon

DHs dream is to live in a Tumbleweed house someday. We've looked at their other houses and they have some cute floor plans. I could go smaller but not sure how small yet :)

The idea of the zerohouse is great but wouldn't work for us - too expensive and have 6 people in the family. Plus don't know it would work in -30 C.

I think it would be fun to live in a small space as long as it was well designed and I lived by myself.

I like the idea of multipurpose spaces.

So for me, the zero house would work beautifully... if it was a fraction of the $350 price AND situated in a green place by the beach!

One would really have to be serious about downsizing to live in some of those houses! Though, not a bad idea. To bad the price tag makes them a little out of reach.

    Hey MMBB,
Life isn't about me lately and that's fine ... I'm glad I can help mom from afar. S.o.o.o much to do and the hours evaporate before I know it.
Logged in and wanted to see how you're doing - you're just racking up those points!!
In some magazine awhile back, I saw a fantastic house an architect had designed with peripheral wings using boxcars. You might enjoy this link, too:

okay, I found out how much the Zero House cost... are you sitting down... $350,000! No I am NOT kidding!

For $350k my midget house would have to come with a private island in the tropics. ha

We all have champagne tastes here... or mabbe we can just tell quality when we see it...

    Have a fun day!
