When I say, "Scale!" you say, "UGH!" "Scale!" ...

I'm not losing weight as I'd hoped. This perplexes me. I'm trying not to let it drag down my spirits, but you know how it goes. I fly out to see my parents in three weeks, and I wanted to be down 5-10 pounds from the beginning of October. So far, I do not see that happening. The heck?

Hrmph. I know, I know. Measure it in other ways. Easier said than done.

    One of the secrets of long term weight loss and becoming fitter, stronger and healthier is to do stuff where the side effect is weight loss rather than the goal. Sounds counter-intuitive but it works. And whilst doing this make little changes, learn to "know" your calorie intake and you will be fine.

    I checked out your page and can def. relate with the yo-yo dieting! BTW: loved how you worded it...fits me to a t.
Anyways: don't give up!!! You could still lose 5-10 lbs. before losing, but don't focus so hard on the scale. You might be losing inches! Good luck!
