October Out, November Ahead
Tuesday, November 01, 2011
October was not a great month for me all the way around. The one bright spot was in the middle of the month when I got out and did 5k at the park on a beautiful Saturday with my son (to support the fabulous ARGYLE-RUNNER!). Literally the highlight of my month. The scale didn't budge, I'm still struggling to figure out when and how to fit in a walk/run program, allergies are terrible and I don't like the weather, it's still hot. And I don't like that I complain about it all, so there's that...
I am SO OVER OCTOBER!!!
November is my favorite month. Always has been, hopefully always will be. My birthday, my oma's (grandmother) birthday just a few days after, and then my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. I don't love it because of the food (that's just a bonus), I love it because growing up, we lived a long days drive away from my oma, so almost every year, my parents, aunts & uncles, would take a week off work and my whole family would meet at Oma's and we'd have a week of just hanging out and having fun. I LOVED that. We don't do that anymore, Oma moved from the Ozarks (which is why we all congregated there, it was in the middle for everyone) and down by us. Some cousins, aunts and uncles still get together near Branson, MO in the summer's now, but I'm never able to get there. So I love my memories of this month. I hope to make some great memories this year as well! My birthday plans consist of running/walking the Spark Virtual 5k for that week, my time my be bad, but I don't care, it's about doing something good for myself as I turn 32. We have scheduled going to my parents for Thanksgiving (and Oma's birthday). The month is going to be topped off with a cruise to celebrate 10 years married to my best friend (and 13+ years of being together!). It's looking to be a great month, I started it with 30 minutes on the elliptical this morning. I hope to end it with 30 minutes (or more) in the gym on the ship! WOOT WOOT! Happy November!
