I want to sew something to wear. Sunday, October 30, 2011

I have already cut the tissue pieces from a pattern to make a jacket. I love to sew, except I hate being hunched over a table to cut the material. I have a lot of patterns and I want to make nice clothes. Everything I wear is stretchy and has elastic waists. I can't even wear button-down blouses because I'm big busted and I don't want to look boxy. I have patterns in a range of sizes. I want to make something in a size smaller than I am now, so I have something to work towards. I want to make a dress. The last time I wore a dress I wore a size 24/26 and that was 7 years ago for my sister's wedding. Funny story-I bought it at Walmart and when I got to the wedding, I found out my older sister bought the same dress! We looked like bridesmaids! Ha ha! Of course I wore it better. Just kidding.
My daughter spent the night at a friend's house. When she gets home I'll have her help me cut the fabric. She wants me to make her something too. We found her a nice Vogue pattern for an Asian-inspired jacket. If she wants me to make it for her, it's only right to help me do some of the cutting.
When I first learned to sew, I would stay up Friday night until the early morning on Saturday, just sewing. I'd have a new blouse to wear every Monday. I wouldn't even think about eating. I'd be so busy, I didn't want to eat. Gotta go. I'm going to set up the cutting table so she can't say no. Ta ta.
