Now I've been to the gym before but I had two young kids with me at that time so I didn't get to do much. I had my daughter with me yesterday. She's only 3, but she can play by herself pretty good. I used four machines to start off with. Two of them worked my legs, one worked my arms and the other worked my stomach. I did 3 reps of 15 for each of them. I went to a couple of other machines afterward that were for arms. I knew that my arms were strong because I've carried my kids so much along with all of my stuff. I used the machine for the shoulder press and I didn't realize how weak my shoulders were! I worked on the machines for about 15 minutes and then decided to go upstairs to the treadmill.
I haven't been on a treadmill in years. I pushed the button that said "Weightloss Workout". The workout was supposed to last 20 minutes. It started out at a speed of 1.0. That was way too slow for me so I sped it up to my normal walking pace which was 3.0. Well, one minute into it, the incline went to a grade 4 and a pace of 3.2. I hadn't expected that so I realized the 1.0 was supposed to be the warm up! That went on for a little while and then it went up to a pace of 4.0. I had to start jogging to keep up with it. It continued on up to 5.0 and 5.5. I finally had to stop the machine at about six minutes into it because I was so tired. Needless to say, I'm out of shape! I am now planning on using the treadmill every other time I go and try to go one minute longer than I did last time. I figure that is an easy enough goal to accomplish and I'll slowly get back into shape and lose weight while I'm at it. I'm hoping to be able to get in another trip to the gym this weekend.
