Smoke Free and training for a 10K

Are there any runners or former smokers out there? I'm not smoking and trying to hang in there and train for a 10k. Just wondering if there's anyone out there that might keep me motivated?

    Thanks! I actually quit in Jan but then relapsed in July. I'm on the quit again, and hopefully I can stick with it. I'm thinking about trying my first 10k next week. I've ran 9 5k's now. My goal was to break 30 minutes and now that I've done that, I want to move on to a 10K and hopefully a full marathon by next summer. I started running so I wouldn't put any weight on when I quit smoking. It was the first time I had ever quit and not gained weight. Now I think I'm just determined to run so I don't start smoking again.

    Thanks for the encouragement! I'm planning my wedding (Dec 6th) and I'm so stressed out about everything!!

    What was the hardest thing for you to overcome when you ran your 10K?

    Congrats on quitting smoking!

    Yes, I quit 2 years ago (Aug 31st) and started running last spring. I have ran a few 5k now, and I ran 10K on my own a little over a month ago. I basically run just to run/loose weight/heart health, not really doing it for racing (yet)
