Not that long ago I found this "idea" from another Sparker that actually has her own site and when I went to visit it I found it impressive. Duh me, did not get her name and hope I can find it again. ( I promise to find her name and give her credit here for this idea.

I am sharing this with you because I have so many friends suffering right now and isn't that why we are here at SP to help one another and to hold hands with each other to get through all the pain and jump up and down in the joyful times?



I know I am going to do this and I hope you will share if you will do this too! Good luck to you Sparkers.

Here it is:

"The Weekend Project"

"Remember truly successful, happy people all have one thing in common. They own their lives. When they make bad decisions, they face them head on, create a plan, and focus on overcoming any obstacles in their way. Owning your bad choices leaves you free to learn from your mistakes. It helps you move past them and improve your future.

So I am going to leave you with a project this weekend. Make a list of five things you donít like about your life today. Think back and ask yourself what were the past choices you made led to each of the five. Decide today on a plan to change all the items on your list. Create concrete goals, whether it is to lose weight, pay off your debt or get a better job, realize only you control your future."

EDIT~~~~ A sparker wrote to me that making the list is easy, but doing the list is hard. Some people find making the list is hard and have no where to begin, this is just a way of actually sitting down and focusing on what your life is and where you want to go from here and make a plan of action. This is the first step in a baby step process!

If you get this far, then you would take a second baby step by working towards those goals. This is just a start for my many friends asking where to begin???



I have my five things! Do you?

MY Weekend Project list! Okay, so I went over. These are not in order..just a list of WILL DO''s!

Let God have my life in full..for me to stop sweating the small and stressful things in life!

Continue on my lifestyle change

Find a stable home for my family

Enter back into college/ for Better paying job

Go off all of my medications

Be a kinder more gentler person overall, but a way better mother to my children.

Learn to cook, without burning everything

Learn to trust people again (mostly men)..this is huge for me. This will be the one I wonder if I can be successful at.

    Love your simple, straight-forward and honest list.
We've been talking about doing goal-setting as a family, and I was struggling with a clear way to get us going... so we will be implementing this "method" this very weekend!

    I just read this blog. This is a great idea. It is also a very scary idea. It seems like it shouldnt be hard until you really start getting into the "meat" of the why's and how to come up with a plan to fix it.

    Hi

Great idea! There are a couple of things I keep putting off at work which I should do and get out the way! This will be done on monday and I will continue to deal with it head on in future.
Just the thought of it gives me grief emoticon but no longer, I will do it on time!!

I have another to address, again something I keep putting on the backburner and can be dealt with at the weekend and clear my head!!

    My list:
1. Make nigh time prayer and reflection a habit ( I do the morning well)
2. Think positively making steps toward goal
3. Do something fun everyday so I don't get bogged down with what has to be done
4. Exercise
5. Track food

    Hi! Here's my list:
1. Also hand myself over completely to God...realize trying to have control instead of giving it to Him is what got me where I am!
2. lose another 35 pounds (this goal will have to be repeated)
3. Do a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise each and EVERY day
4. Make positive changes in my marriage
5. Travel to Berlin

My goal date is April 2012 (this is when I plan to go to Berlin, so I have to meet it!)

Oh and if you're looking for a really good book to help you learn to cook, I highly recommend the Joy of Cooking. It can't be beat for learning the basics.

    Kristen! This is going to be so hard for me!!! I think actually saying out loud things that are your weak moments is something i am not good at! But here goes... ok ...#1 get a job i actually like because i went to school, graduated and feel like a failure because i dont use my degree. #2 Finish my weightloss so i can be confident and feel sexy because i do not think i am found attractive or appreciated. #3 Stop using the past to let me get down..i tend to bring up old crap all the time. #4 Stop letting everyone use me as a doormat...i am a person with feelings. #5 Take care of myself...I do not do that.

So thats it and i will try to be better at those things!!!

    You are an amazing woman Kristen...you speak from your heart and genuinely want to help others...I am so fortunate that I am one of those others...this weekend, in between studying for 2 midterms, I will write down my ideas...hmmm, I might just post them on my sparkpage so that I am reminded of them on a daily basis...thank you so much for all you do...you are truly an inspiration :)

    Thanks for such a thought provoking blog. I might be in a little bit different place. I have been pretty scattered, thinking of and trying all kinds of baby steps, but avoiding THE ONE I needed to take most: eat less. So, starting about a week ago, I decided to give that one everything I've got just to get started on it. I am getting both cardio and strength training in also. I'm happy to say I've lost 8 pounds since I started focusing on my eating. I'll be branching out soon,and taking your great suggestion.

    Great idea Kristin. I'll have to think about this one. A lot of major things going on right now. As far as the cooking goes. I can help you. I love to cook. I have tons of recipes , incluing weight watchers and cookbooks. So if your looking for ideas I can try to help. I also get a great email weekly from Mark Bitterman, a famous chef and cookbook author. He has a book, How to cook everything, and he sends out a free recipe each week. They are great. Check him out. I think I found it on his web site. Sorry don't have his link. He also writes for several major newspaper food sections.

    My list from January 2011:
Finish the year with less of me.--31 lbs less today
Walk a 5k--I am doing this 3 times a week now; I couldn't walk a mile last year!
Be a better parent--only time will tell on that one, but I am reading and doing the 5ks with my daughters.
Be nicer to my husband after all it is me who doesn't like me not him--I am changing that to a more positive relationship.
Be healthier at 44 than I was at 34...I weigh less,eat better, and love myself more

I will be working on next years list,but this one has definitely improved! emoticon emoticon

Maybe we should have a special "Life-Changing Step-by-Step Challenge Team" of course, with you leading it...(and Vanelymoon, too.)
