When you have kids around there are food temptations too. Today, I took my niece to a birthday party at the local pool. Of course there was pizza, cake and ice cream. Now typically I'm not a sweets type of person. However, put pizza in front of me and watch out for your fingers! I definitely have the salt and fat addiction. I'm not sure what is worse.
I officially trounced temptation and kicked it to the curb (well, at least today). I didn't have one slice of pizza. I kept reminding myself about all the great things I did for my body this week. Also, I really didn't want to have to go to the gym tomorrow for the guilt workout because of the pizza. I need a day for my body to rest. I was extremely pleased with myself.
After the party, there was a big Halloween fiesta in town. Temptation was SHUT DOWN again. I brought an apple with me to munch on. That is all I had. I didn't have one piece of candy, not one smore, not one hot dog, or doughnut with cider...nothing. Plus, we did a lot of walking, which was fantastic.
I know there will be days when I slip up. But I'm going to remember this day. The day I was stronger then temptation, the day I realized that I want to do good things for myself and stuck to it.
