Ugh! I'm steaming!!!
OK... Here's my latest rant. I've determined that there are no healthy restaurants between Washington, DC and Danville, VA.
Woke up at 5am. Had a nice healthy breakfast at 6:30am. Got on the road and I drove to Danville today. So far, so good, right?
The entire trip I could not find a healthy snack. Not one 7-Eleven along the route. (All I wanted was a cup of yogurt.) When I started feeling dizzy, I bit the bullet, pulled into one those cheezy Quickie Gas Station/Redneck Bait shops. I must have read every single little snack bag (aka garbage) & finally settled on 2 tiny bags of salty junk (popcorn & cheese puffs). Not too much damage for a snack.
Well, then I finally get to Danville around 1:30pm. I'm starving. I go to Ruby Tuesday. I decide "against" the salad bar thinking that a healthy choice meal would be more filling and probably healthier.
I look at the menu and see a lovely Petite Sirloin with roasted spaghetti squash& grilled zucchini. It's part of their "Fit & Trim" menu and is listed as 537 calories.
I get back to the hotel tonight and decide to enter the real facts from the Ruby Tuesday Nutrition info on their Website. Look what I really had for lunch:
706 Calories (the steak alone was 611 calories)
45 Protein (I guess this is the upside???)
So there you have it. Another chain restaurant flat out lying on their printed menu! How do these guys get away with this?
