So I have not blogged in 2 years now. I figured I would let someone know what I am currently up to.
After losing a fair amount of weight (208 down to 173), I slipped into old familiar habbits. I stopped running and exercising all together and went back to eatting horribly. I have since gained all my weight back and then some, packing on 220 pounds. Last year (fall 2010 to be exact) I noticed that my friend's daughter was losing weight and looking great. I inquired as to what she was doing. She replied, "rowing". After doing some digging I found out that Lake Guntersville had started a brand new rowing club and that it was for anyone. I decided to give it a shot and I havent looked back since.
October 15, 2011 was my first Regatta (Race for Rowing). Well my first Regatta went ok, I had some new bruises to show for it. I was exhausted too. :) Our time was 21:40.78 seconds. We were beat by 02:15.27 which was the only other competitor in our division of Mixed Masters 8. The distance was 4500 meter head race (timed race).
As of right now I have not lost any weight but I have slowly began to build muscle. I am hoping to start a good winter regimen for staying in shape for rowing in the spring. We have one more race this year before the season is over. We are training almost everyday for around 30 minutes since that is all the time we have in the evenings with the sun setting so early. I have also managed to talk my husband into rowing as well so that might open up some opportunities for me to get a doubles team going for the spring races.
So thats whats been happening with me. I probably wont be blogging much but I will try to keep you all up to date with the big events.
