Here I am. Living in a small rural town in MI. I've recently become a caretaker to my In-Laws and my 6 year old niece. As a career minded city girl this is a big change. Want to know what the best part is? I now have more time to focus on myself then I ever did before. I find it amusing that while I was working a 9 to 5 job, I found it extremely difficult to fit in exercise and healthy living. Now taking care of a family of 6 and on 24/7; I make health and fitness a priority, simply because I'm needed for the long haul.
I'm at the beginning, where everything starts. Sure, I've been on this path before. I've tried lifestyle changes, but it's never clicked. It's amazing how many times I convinced myself that my weight wasn't that bad. Or that I have plenty of time to exercise later and never did. The Queen of procrastination...mixed with the Fool who ate like there was no tomorrow. I take this all with a grain of salt.
The fact is, you DO have to be ready to commit yourself to a healthy lifestyle. I can't change the past. However, I can take action in the present to change the future. I'm ready, I'm willing, I'm focused on removing the self-barriers that stopped me in the past. I'm also a realist...this IS GOING TO BE HARD! The main thing I tell myself is...YOU ARE WORTH IT. I'm a big believer in putting forth effort to gain the reward. Don't forget your persistence, perseverance, and determination. These are the things that get you through life. Not just weight loss.
