The Worst Bachelorette Party Ever !

Monday, October 17, 2011

The Bachelorette party was a total Train Wreck ! The Maid of Honor is the bride's sister - she's very pretty, but not the sharpest tool in the shed.

The limo was wrong (MOH's fault). She sent the ride away even though she was in the wrong. We drove ourselves in a Mini-Van (with the car seat still in it) to a very upscale place in Miami Beach. You've probably heard of it or seen it in movies - The Fountainblue Hotel.

Her contact did get us in the club - called LIV - for free, but we were supposed to get a VIP couch and free drinks too. None of that happened. We purchased one round of drinks ourselves - $12 each - and after the bride and her sister argued for 30 minutes, we finally left at 12:45am to go (I thought home) but we ended up on South Beach after paying the $20 valet.

The bride was hungry and we spotted a Sushi place, parked ($15) walked to the restaurant to discover it was closed. We walked back to the car, but then the bride and MOH decided to continue on foot and look for anyplace to eat. Our feet - standing in heels for the past 2 hours - were killing us. We found a pizza place (I won't eat pizza - too many carbs). On the cross block on South Beach between Collins and washington we were confronted by two young very drunk men who almost laid hands on one of us until our kickboxing instincts took over and we very forcefully and aggressively insisted they get lost. Still, they had to have pizza - so we pressed on, they ordered, ate and we walked back to the car without incident.

I got to my door at 3:30 - ate some greek yogurt and slept until 9:30 Sunday morning. It was a miracle that neither I nor my 2 friends Valerie and Savannah didn't murder or at the very least slap the MOH upside the head.

Oh man!! What a horrible horrible night! I feel so sorry for everyone that suffered through that, especially the bride! Did the MOH apologize at all or admit that any of this was her fault!!

I"m glad nothing serious happened with the drunks!!!

Calling the evening a train wreck was an understatement! And I would have loved to witness what happened when your "kick-boxing reflexes took over". Care to elaborate? I'm glad everybody was okay in the end but it doesn't sound like an experience you'll be in any hurry to repeat.
