Today I worked in my yard for 5 hours, laying down sod. I prepped the soil, raked it, added the top soil, raked again, loaded and unloaded sod into the car, then put down the sod and watered the new grass. Does that not sound super duper fun to you? :)
It was amazing!! I love being outside, and I love working in the yard, though I am not usually one for manual labor. Leave the bulb planting and stuff to me, thankyouverymuch.
But this time was different. I don't know if its that my spark workouts (or carrying around my one year old) have strengthened my body, or taking pride in my new home has strengthened my resolve, but I know in the past I would have left the heavy lifting to my husband.
One of the things that's so great about a project like this is that you see results *fast* and instant gratification is fun. And did you know gardening burns about a million calories? AND - Keeping myself busy with this project definitely kept the snacking to a minimum.
I finished the day dirty, sore, happy and with a slammin' lawn. Not too shabby for one day's work.
