Today my family went on a 4 mile hike with my son's cub scout pack to a beautiful park and nature reserve. Temperature was in the mid 50's and a little breezy, but when we walked through the trails, the trees protected us alot from the wind. This hike is exactly what I needed. I had a stressful week at work and being able to have this day to just be out in nature and take in the sounds of the rushing river, birds chirping, the crunching of leaves as we walked through the trails made the day a perfect retreat.
here I am standing on a rock by the river

We had a great day and will be returning to this beautiful place.
Lovely. Scouting is a wonderful opportunity for boys and young men. My oldest became an Eagle Scout last year and scouting gave him opportunities, leadership, and skills he will use the rest of his life. I hope your son stays with it!
Parental support like going on these hikes is a big part of it! Go Mom!!!
Hmmm....sorry, I don't know how I missed this blog!! Looks like a wonderful fall day!! I know this place, it is one of my favorite places ever!! I actually wanted to get married there but it would have been too inconvenient for everyone! You look great too!! 1816 days ago
