I missed yesterday's post, sorry. DGS was sick at school and DD and SonIL were both working. So I picked him up and he stayed here. Gotta take care of the sick little ones.
Thursday morning we ate a quick breakfast in the room, packed a few Cliff bars, Nekot Crackers, and water and hit the trail again. We drove to Byllesby Dam through the fog, and hit the trail.
We had not ridden this section before, and it is beautiful. The trail follows the river to Buck Dam and I would have loved to have had my kayak along, too.
After Buck Dam, the trail flowed away from the river and back again.
Arriving at Foster Falls (14.4 miles), a small state park with horse stables, kayaks, hiking trails and small picnic area.
Then we headed back to Byllesby Dam ending up with 28 miles for the day.
A quick salad at Wendy's and off to Camp Cheerio for my quilt retreat.
Thursday was spent setting up our space, show and tell, and getting to know our new retreaters.
Linda made a lovely needle turned Celtic knot wall hanging with her hand dyed fabrics for show and tell. Then she turned it over to show the label and it was for ME. I was floored. It was a thank you for helping to set up the retreat. It is beautiful and will hang over my mantle for Christmas every year.
Dinner was salad bar, home made chicken pot pie with rice, fresh bread and fruit cobbler. YUM.
Some sewing after dinner, then off to bed. Early call in the morning for my walk around the camp before breakfast.
Life is good.
