Catering Success

Saturday, October 15, 2011

Well, the catering job was a huge success. The food was absolutely wonderful and the people were fabulous too. So far we have booked 2 more jobs and are hoping to get more in the near future.

I can honestly say that I am not used to standing for hours at a time anymore, and when I fell into bed that night I just hurt all over. We spent hours chopping veggies and fresh herbs for the dishes that we prepared. Then stood at the event to serve the poor feet were so sore.

The good news is, I didn't gain any weight during this whole affair, I didn't lose any weight, but I didn't gain any either, even after sampling the pie and cake. (I had to do a quality check on the product! emoticon)

I am learning a lot about using fresh herbs from my friend, he uses herbs in ways and mixtures that I never would have thought of. And the presentation of the food was absolutely beautiful with all the colors from the herbs.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and an even better tomorrow.

Wow! That sounds wonderful! I'm going to have to start slowing down when I cook and take the time to chop and mince fresh produce. I've never enjoyed cooking to much so I'm always in a hurry to get it done. Sounds like you might be embarking on a new career as your friends culinary side kick!!! Awesome! And the standing and walking and all that ......great for your body!
