You all are wonderful!

Saturday, October 15, 2011

The surgery went well yesterday. It was very short. They allowed my husband in the room with me during all the prep, which they usually don't, but they understood how emotional this was. The entire hospital staff was comforting and sympathetic. The surgery itself lasted only about 20 minutes, my husband said. He had just enough time to go put my purse in the car and go the hospital's bistro and eat some breakfast and then they were paging him back to recovery.

Of course, I remember nothing except going into the OR and then waking up in recovery. As soon as I woke up, I burst into tears though... the finality of the whole thing hit me like a ton of bricks. I felt overwhelming sadness and relief all at the same time.

A few weeks ago, when all was well, I asked my 16 month old what we should name the baby in Mommy's tummy, and Lorelei responded with "dady"! It rhymes with baby... that's actually how Lorelei says baby. Although she can say her "B" sounds just fine, she has never been able to say baby. So my husband and I felt it would be fitting to name our Angel Baby Dady Miller. We tried to think of other names, but we just kept coming back to Dady. And we felt it's okay that the baby didn't have a "normal" name... it's a loving tribute from Dady's big sister.

So, as for the title of this blog? It's because all of my Spark Friends are just fabulous. The love and support you all have shown me during this difficult time has been so appreciated, and even though I haven't felt up to being on the computer much, so therefor haven't personally thanked you all individually, please know that I have read every comment and they have all made me feel loved and supported. So for that, I thank you all SO much!!!

Every day gets a little easier. Today is better than yesterday. Tomorrow will be better than today. And Monday I can resume working out. I am actually at an EMS conference this weekend (my doc said go for it!) so I will be doing quite a bit of walking. I will be able to squeeze some airmiles in for my Clovers!!! :)

Again, thank you all!!! I love SPARK!

I'm so sorry Amanda. I'm just catching up on some blogs so have missed much of what's been going on with my SP friends. Dady is a perfect name for your little one and I pray that things will continue to get a little better for you as days pass. In the meantime know that you are loved and looked after here by your fellow Clovers and friends. Please take care of yourself and your family and we will be here when you are ready to come back. emoticon emoticon
