Holding on to Anger

Monday, March 05, 2007

Holding onto Anger Bitterness and Resentment is not healthy. Holding onto these types of things can cause physical ailments and effect your health in a detrimental way. These emotions cause stress on the body which can lead to or make worse all kinds of diseases and sickness, such as: cancer, depression, anxiety, and heart disease. A good book to read is Deadly emotions by Don Colbert. Try to stop and think before you react. Some things that may help control your anger are counting to ten, so you can calm down, writing in a journal, taking a walk or excercise, (I always say burn that anger off), in fact I love to do work when I am angry because i am very focused on what I am doing and my adrenaline is pumping so I get a lot done. You be amazed at how much laundry and vacuuming you can get done. Maybe just sit down and read a book or the Bible. Even just stopping and meditating for a few minutes. Just make sure your not meditating on what your angry about. Meditate on scripture, a favorite place, or a inspiring word, quote or phrase. So let go of that anger and choose peace!

Love those ideas. When i am angry i have found that the best way to handle it is calling a friend.Nothing like venting and then laughing over how silly it all is.
