Where the 'deer and the buffalo roam'?? Really, Melly?
I guess "... and the antelope's playing all daaaaaay. HOHHHHHME, home on the range..."
:sigh:

BUT! It could be worse. I read a Washington Post OpEd piece about "Occupy Wall St", where the writer called the protesters "quixotic" (and that he "loved 'em"!).
Since then, I have been singing "The Impossible Dream" to Lacy, our Black Lab and guest vlog sitter-iner.

Everyone, now: "THIS IS MY QUEST... TO FOLLOW THAT STAR... NO MATTER HOW HOPELESS... NO MATTER HOW FAR..." Hey, sort of like our healthy journey!!! Lemme go find my dog!!!

    Melly - OMG! Mixing a hair appointment up is human! Just for the record, If I missed a hair app, then came home and those chips were there with me alone, (do not read on if you are faint of heart) I'd mix them in with my pretzels and milk eat them up! Be proud/glad you have enough self control not to open the package of baked cookies and eat them?! Does it make you feel any better to know You Should Be Proud of Yourself? BTW - I am inspired by your clean diet! Looking forward to cleaning my act/food habits and hope to have the honor of exchanging ideas.

    Melly you are amazing! You are doing so well with the food and keeping your environment clean. How do you do that? My hd and son would go crazy on me. LOL

I wish I could do half as well as you in the eating department. I am not a chocolate lover so no chocolate chips but give me candy and it would be gone. I wish I could understand why I do it.

    Thanks for sharing your very human behaviors.
I completely resonate with your experience. Some times
much to my shock, those little viruses lurking in my brain
seem to take over without warning. Yips!

I, too, have learned that if I go back to my new way
of living and being all is well. No real harm done.

P.S I think your hair still looks good.

AH, bummer! Having to wait for hair appointments, BUT, I love getting my hair done!
OH MY WORD! You and I have the same Achilles Heel. I can't even keep Milk Chocolate Chipits in the house! No joke I will breathe them in...like you see someone breathing in a bag for hyperventilating?! Ya, that's me!!!
Self-control; it's a muscle that you flex and if your home is sterile from the influence the muscle doesn't get flexed as often and I am in full support of sterile environments...hey, I school at home to avoid garbage! I'm all for keeping your home clean, but, prepping yourself for the challenge like you said...not when you're tired, clean environment and when you know that you're going to be around some yummies factoring an allowance.
It was a surprise because you thought that you were through the woods...in the clear. We're never in the clear down here. You really are doing fantastic with control!!!
Ship those cookies off - pronto to your "boys".

    You ARE going to make it in the long haul! I have no doubts about that! You know how I know that? Because you ARE doing the work. You are figuring it out. And if you fall down, you get back up. No big deal. No beating yourself up. Just a little dust-up and insight for the next time. You are going to rock this maintenance!

It sounds like making the cookies in the morning is the way around the chocolate chip bag. You tried it at a different time. It didn't work. So be it. Maybe it will be different in the future but for now, just now, morning it is. That is a win in my book. I am glad you are taking it in stride and moving on. (I am writing this as brownies are in the oven. Morning is also my "strong" time for making baked goods. Ha!)

As for the hair appt. - been there and done that many times over. The boys have haircuts today and thank goodness the hair place called to confirm. Ha!
