Sorry if my Spark Peeps have thoght I've disappeared! Let me take a moment to fill you all in on what's been going on!
I got a new dog, Tater. Pictures of him are on my blog and page. I went and adopted him from my local Friends For Animals. Until I adopted him, I didn't even know I had a Friends For Animals!! Later, I got a new boxer, Rocky. He's a rescue dog, with a hurt leg, and VERY skinny (my dream for me, but not so good on him! haha). I've spent a lot of time with them, taking them places, walks, etc.
I've also became very active in volunteering for the Friends For Animals. What a great way to keep myself busy on the weekends, stay active, and help all of the little animals! With dog walking, office work there, and weekend fundraiser activities, I'm not lazy anymore! I love it too. I feel like I have finally found my 'thing'. They seem to need the help so much there, and I love it. I love getting to play with all the little doggies (I've always been such a dog lover, just recently got a place to have my own). I wish I didn't work 45 hours a week at my day job so I could go there more! The people there are great also. Not only do they all have HUGE hearts, they're so interesting. We have the lonely people, the bikers, the gays (and they're awesome, they open their home to foster animals that the shelter doesn't have enough room for!), local band members, the partying crowd, the fun people, many different races, and many different types... I've learned that animal lovers take many forms!
This weekend, I'll be helping out with their fundraiser golf tournament. I've never been big on golf, except for the Wii (haha) but it's going to be great to get out there, see familiar faces, meet new people, and stay active, all for a great cause.
For the animal lovers out there, who are tired of being bored on the weekends (like I was), I would highly advise you to see if your county has a Friends for Animals. Most of them do, and start volunteering. It's very fullfilling.
Have a great Tuesday! *At least it's not Monday!*
