    Oh dear...
Maybe they will see your passion as a pro and hire you on the spot!?

I think you need to stick to your guns and not let her bully you into any quick decisions. She is in the wrong from the way I understand the emails. It is her job to try to keep everyone happy not just the majority. How does she know what the majority is if you are the only one "bratty" enough to speak up. Fight for what you believe in! Keep us posted on what you decide to do and what happens!

I would not take the meeting but send in a video of yourself teaching a class to the person who hires. Explain about the lack of classes and the many who want the classes. Signatures of people who want more classes help. You may get the job there or at a competitor gym.

Hmmmm. Sounds to me like this woman, not the company, doesnt understand what business she is in. Gyms (to me) are structured on 3 things. Equipment and resources, availability of said equipment and resources, and customer SERVICE. CS does not include blowing off complaints, or claiming that since only one person has said anything about it that it isnt worth the time to deal with. Sounds like you've been to classes in several locations, and I'm sure you werent the only one in the classes. And if the problem is she doesnt have instructors for the class - tell her you just got certified, and offer to help solve the problem. Smile, ask her how to contct HR, and tell her you'll help solve her dilema. Remember - if she's doing scheduling, she is problably not doing HR for 24 locations ;-)
Good luck - more power to the brat in ya!

Aw, good luck. You know my troubles with Gold's Gym and now I don't have a great view of 'mainstream' or franchise type gyms. Ugh. I hope she is willing to work with you! Keep us up to date!

Best of luck! I think you still have a shot at getting hired. She can't be the HR rep too. Of course, then you will have to arm yourself with how to work with a bully....

Rock on!

You have a membership with them for this class...if in the future you wanted to work for them it would be for this class; I love that you embrace your passion. You are the customer and, um, last check, yup,ya...you're right.

emoticon You did what you thought was right, and that's what's important. I have always detested companies that act like the individual doesn't matter. I mean, where do they think the money is coming from???

Oh I would react the same way you did...I don't take to kindly with others not even listening to me when they are supposed to be there for the customers in the first place. I also think that you would still have a shot at a job....because she may do the scheduling but whose to say she is the one doing the hiring...like you said it sounded like corporate was on your side.
