Why I will never sky-dive.

Monday, October 10, 2011

Yesterday the husband and I drove up to the outskirts of Sydney to pick up his dream television that he bought on Ebay. (Sony WEGA hi-def weighing something like 200 pounds) On the way back, he pointed out a group of skydivers and we were amusing ourselves counting how many we could spy - there's a skydiving school in that area. He was telling me things like "Oh, they sometimes land in the middle of the freeway" and "Wouldn't you hate to be up there and have chute failure??" and I said "UMMM...like that person THERE??" We watched in horror as someone (who didn't look very big compared to the others up there) suffered failure of both their primary AND emergency parachute...and they hit the ground hard. We were horrified. I didn't see anything about it on the news last night so hopefully the person just went home with a few bruises.
It wasn't anything that would tempt me into the sport, I tell ya.

    What a thing to see!
I am not a dare devil in any way, shape or form. But I have a daughter who is, and I hope she doesn't want to try this next. LOL!

    Not me, either.
    Not for a million dollars.
    Well, maybe.

I skydived once, and the next week there was a news report about the schools airplane crashing. I haven't skydived since, but it was worth it at the time.
