I'll Be Seeing You!

Saturday, October 08, 2011

Today is my last blog for a couple weeks.

I am going to CA for the Pacific International Quilt Festival and see how my quilt does. I don't expect any ribbons or prizes, but it will be fun to listen to the comments and critiques from judges and viewers.

I am originally from that area, so have lots of friends to see and enjoy. It will be a busy time, that's for sure!

I don't have one of those carry along computers.....whatever they are called.......so I won't be letting you know how I am doing till I get back.

Those of you who know me well understand that I am NOT a "Techie", so the fewer computers I get near, the better. I know my way around Spark and email, and once in a while can even figure out other stuff. Most of which I can't remember how I did it.

It's always a bit of adventure for me to get on Flicka (my 'puter). We never know just how we got anywhere for sure, and many times have no idea as to WHY we are there anyway.

It's kind of like my own personal scavenger hunt.

I know I have been a bit quiet lately, and that's because I am busy......I am very busy indeed.

I have a rather long request list for quilts for the kids fighting cancer, ages 8-18. Hopefully I will be able to deliver one today before I leave on my voyage south.

Then when I get home, it is "To the quilt room for ME" again.

I'll think about you guys and all the support I get from you while I am forced to eat in restaurants. I know what I need to do, and am planning to do the right thing by my body while I am gone. But oh, those wonderful Mexican restaurants down there do beckon!!

Take heart, do your exercises, enjoy your life. I'll get in touch when I am once again home.

Love to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

U Know how much I SUPPORT what it is your doing, and how I FEEL aobut U personally emoticon so YES GO OUT TO CA and KNOCK them DEAD GIRL !!! Do ur best and that's ALL you CAN DO hon ! Its the JOY of giving that counts. Those kids DESERVE the quilts and they KNOW someone has thought of them. I have one that someone made for me YEARS ago who made for people who were going thru depression as I was then,,, and I LOVE IT ! She specifically asked who wanted what colors, so i gave my colors and that I had a parakeet,so she added in BIRDS ! its GOREOUS and WARM as it needs to be in Maine. Well the depression has lifted, but the quilt will ALWAYS be in my heart as is her LOVE.

Have a great trip. Your quilt is beautiful and even if you don't win (which I think you will), it will give others such great pleasure to look at it!

You have all the tools you need to succeed while away; keep your food diary close at hand so you keep track of what you're eating.

See you when you get back!

Stay true to yourself with the food!!!

If you have no choice but to eat out, the least amount of calories is your best at a Mexican restaurant.....make sure its HOT and it wll help you stay on track, the cayenne pepper will help keep your system revved up. It helps to burn the added calories! Best is the Chicken Fahita and no rice! Or just salad. Or a Bean burrita, or just eat some refried beans.... lol But you will manage I am sure, because you will probably do more walking.... to and from the parking lot! The furthest away you park from the place , the better! Believe me a Quilt event will cause you to get excited and keep you from eating too much. Hope you win a ribbon for all your troubles. First place for creativity at least!? susana
