I BAD, VERY BAD

Friday, October 07, 2011

emoticon emoticon I was tempted by my husband's cookies, candy, and home made chili. Sobbing. Tomorrow his parents are coming over and we are eating out. Sigh.

After tomorrow I will eat better. I will do the best I can tomorrow, but that is it. It's time to start over again.

I start over all the time. What else can we do? we cannot keep on over eating so, each new day does give us a new start to do better and to correct our past mistakes, but, please don't condemn yourself, and just keep on looking forward and don't look backwards.

Give yourself a day or two off and then get back on track with renewed vigour. You will be just fine.

If I had a nickel for every time I started over, I'd be quite wealthy by now. It's unfortunate that it happened, but pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again.

Point your cursor over to the Reasonable Diet podcast. Sandra Ahten has great tips for eating out. The one I like best is that the truth is I can have what I want and what I want right now is to feel virtuous instead of feeling bloated, slowed down, and grumpy by foods which do not nourish my body. I hope that helps. Btw, I keep an app to help me know what foods to pick at a restaurant. emoticon

Start right now if you can - even if you are eating out, try to eat the best you can. 2 steps forward, 1 step back, right? Hang in there!

Best strategy for me is to not try to withhold any great food, but take smaller portions. Sometimes is works, sometimes it doesn't.

You can start over at any time of the day! You don't have to wait for a new day! And eating out is no big deal. Just order a healthier meal like fish, chicken etc & just eat half if it's a big plate, half a peice of bread half chicken, Salad doesn't count unless it's full of fattening dressing. You could order dressing on the side! Half baked potato. The potato on the skin is full of fiber. I eat mine! Fiber is a very good thing!
Think positive! Enjoy your outing!

Hon, don't forget the 80/20 rule. Make good choices 80% of the time and the other 20%, if you're making some not so great choices, you're fine! Don't beat yourself up. Tomorrow is a new day with new choices to make.

that's the key! Start over tomorrow, no matter what you did today! Good for you. Occasional splurges can be productive. Try to play a game of eating the fun things, but exercising portion control...a controlled splurge satisfies and may not have any effect on the scale as long as tomorrow is back to the good stuff!

Don't "start over," rather "move on." So totally not the end of anything to indulge here and there. Just try to stay mindful more often than not.

You are not bad. Some days we do better than others. As long as, over time, we make more healthy choices than unhealthy choices, we will get there. You are still on a journey to better health. It does not require perfection, so one or two days of less-than-perfect choices do not require a restart. Enjoy your time with your family, enjoy what you eat, enjoy what you do. When life gets back to a more regular routine, then enjoy being back in your healthy groove. You've got this.

These things happen to all of us. Don't dwell on it. Work out a little extra if you can so you don't feel as guilty of the overeating.
Have a great weekend!

Men can eat all kinds of junk food, but you will just get a wider behind when you chuck it down. LOL Hey, I got to make a joke out of this. I bet you were stressed over dealing with your in-laws. You don't have to eat all that junk when they are around because you know they will just talk about how obese you are behind your back. Do this for you.

Honey, we al do it! My advice? Track anyway...every bite and sip. THEN gradually (emphasis on that word) make it up by cutting 100-200 calories and doing a bit of extra fitness for the next few days. It will balance out!

Learn from your mistakes of today to make tomorrow better. Even eating out you can eat healthy. If you know the restaurant you guys are going to, check their website to see if you can plan your meal ahead of time. If you haven't chosen a restaurant yet, pick one and suggest it (strongly) to the others and plan your meal accordingly. Most places like Olive Garden, Red Lobster and such have nutritional menus that you can review. They are a lifesaver for me! You have a great attitude, you'll be fine tomorrow! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Just remember sometimes its ok to get off track slightly to remind us how to stay on track. Also we have to enjoy ourselves from time to time also!! When you have instances where you are going out to eat and its planned there is little you can do about your weight loss then anyways. You just have to do better the next time. Sometimes the low calorie meals don't even taste good. Have a good weekend! Remember you can only be the best you can be and not any more than that. We all have faults and we all have weaknesses. That is why we are human! emoticon
