Helping Friends

Friday, October 07, 2011

I just spent the afternoon with my dear friend that I have known since 1996. She is 10 years older than I am, has two grown kids, and is startin all over again.

She was engaged to be married but he ex finace turned on her and was arressted. She is going through something that a lot of women have experienced at least once. Myself included. It took me 6 years to get out of that relationship. I uderstand where she is and where she has come from.

When i found out what happened I told without a second thought she should have called me and I would have been in jail too because I would have kicke his butt for her. I don't care what a woman does a man has no right putting his hands on that person. And I can tell you that my friend did nothing wrong. She is the most christian person I know besides my aunts. She loved/loves this man, and for him to do that to her. It is appaling. I know her ex too and thought alot of him.

Well told her I would do what I could to help her, and I hope she calls on me, no one needs to be going through an abusive situation by themselves. Especially when you finally get the courage to get out. The only thing I can do for her now is to see that she has food in her house.

She left with nothing except her bed and personal belongings.
I ask that anyone who reads this sends a special prayer for my friend and me the wisdom and words that will comfort her at this time.

And to anyone who is going through this kind of situation. Do everything you can to get out, but do get out. You will be better off in the long run. It will seem scary and probably lik no end will come but you will see light at the end of the tunnel.

My light came in the form of a 38 year old bald man, with a goatee, mustache, green eyes, and he dips. He also happens to be the light of my life, my confident, my best friend, my secret keeper, and my red hot lover. HAHA.

Thinking of you and praying for your friend. She is blessed to have someone to turn to during this difficult time. I'm sure you will provide comfort and strength. May God bless you both.
