I think everyone needs some gymspiration, whatever it is that gets you to the gym, keeps you there and makes you work your hardest.
What gets me out of the door and to the gym is two things, my husband and our hallway mirror. My husband inspires me to get out because we agreed that he would work out while I am out at the gym. He was diagnosed type 1 diabetic last year and it's been tough getting him to make the changes that are very important. Our hallway mirror is my everyday reminder of what I look like now and what I will eventually look like some time during my journey (I don't say the end of this journey because this is a life-long journey, it will never end). Those two things are enough to get me up and at 'em.
Once I'm at the gym I think that a good match with my workout style. I've found one really great zumba instructor, but my gym has great zumba instructors in general. Now I have another instructor who is my absolute favorite. She works us out really hard, and just as I think I can't go on she either tells us to work for it or cracks a joke and I push a little harder.
Now during every class I look for someone that makes me push myself. There is one lady in particular who takes a lot of the same classes that I do. I'd have to say that she's somewhere in her 60s I think judging by her face, but she's in amazing shape. Not only that, she must be at the gym for hours because she is always there by the time I get there and always hops onto a machine when I'm on my way out. When I see her in my class it makes me work harder because she's easily twice my age and if she can do it, I can do it!
Gymspiration is so important, and i'm constantly looking for it.
