Once again I'm going through the mentoring process to pass CPAT and try to get hired by a career fire department. Tuesday night was assessment night. They wanted to establish our baseline before we began the 8 week training program. To obtain the working heart rate we had to step up and down on an 18" wooden box for 2 minutes. I did this without feeling winded. I managed to do 20 pushups in a minute and not the modified girly ones either. When it came time for sit ups I made it my goal to at least do 2 in the minute as I've never been good at them. I did 12! It's exciting to see changes for the positive in my fitness level.
