Sweet Potato Pie, My Oh My

How do I begin?

Well DH and I received a dubious birthday gift yesterday, a sweet potato pie. OH no!! Yes, we did. We ate the whole thing. No worries of it hanging around tempting us for days.

Well, I got on the scales this AM and was down a whole pound!! Wow!! Will I go out to get more pie? Yesss!!! No, not really. Don't understand it, but it's back to healthy eating and moderation today. Maybe my body was craving sweet potato?

    YUMMY!!!!! Do you know the difference between yams and sweet potatoes? I've been terribly disappointed at picking yams lately--they put them all in one huge bin. Anyway, I was wondering if you knew a trick???? I prefer sweet potatoes. {{{{Hugs}}}} Susan

    Sweet potato is a vegetable, therefore, you were doing good by eating your vegetables! Chocolate is a bean, therefore, when I eat chocolate, I'm eating beans which are good for me, right?

    well, I know my body seems to take 3 days to process anything...good or bad. LOL

    I've never had sweet potato pie, I don't think. Will make one for Thanksgiving I think :o)

    Isn't it crazy how that works? I've had the same thing happen. Days where I think I have done so well, and eaten so carefully, the scale doesn't budge, but then let me blow it, and I lose! Sometimes I think it is the thing where they say your body hoards the food or fluids, thinking you are putting it on a starvation diet, and when you actually eat more, then your body knows you are feeding it, and then metabolizes it better. Trying to figure out where that balance point is... therein lies the challenge. But mmmm...mmmmm.... I use winter squash to make my recipe, but it is one of my favorite pies, one that I lose all self-discipline when it is around. Oh boy, and it is fall and pie season, isn't it? emoticon
