Feldenkrais report and Cheryl Richardsons Extreme Self-care

Tuesday, October 04, 2011

So i had my third lesson of feldenkrais last week.
Each time i leave there im full of energy.
For me its as if a new world had opened. I think, due to moving restrictions in my spine i have developed wrong moving patterns to compensate it.
This causes muscle pain and inflammation of the tenses for me. This too could contribute to my aching feet. Inflammation oftens comes with overloading a part of my body for me.
So changing the way i move might lead to lower pain levels.

What i like most: the instructor always says that theres no right way to do something, every person has to *feel* her/his own way.
So whats good for me doesnt need to be good for another person.
Three weeks off now. I got me a CD and downloaded some free mp3s, so i can work at home.

Thanks to Sparkenista i thought of Cheryl Richardson again. I ordered a new Copy of "life makeovers" - i borrowed mine to some friend. While it is still shipping i bought a copy of "Extreme Self-Care" - i love the way its designed.
This month i picked out the "Mirror Exercise". Each Time you pass a mirror you have to say "I love you" to yourself.
I found out, that my home is full of mirrors - i put them everywhere in strategic places to lighten up darker corners. But i dont rather *see* me in them. I got completely blind for my own reflection in the mirror.
Cant wait so see what this exercise does for me!

Cool ideas. I'm gonna have to try the mirror thing. I'm getting more used to seeing myself in them, but I'm not as good at appreciating the person I see. emoticon

Feldenkrais is wonderful. Glad u found it. Priscilla Patrick who had a long running series on PBS-TV has a great Yoga video for back pain. Her web site is at www.yogaone.com She is about 67 now and the mother of three children. She had extreme back pain years ago and the orthpedic doctors couldn't help her, so she was in Okinawa then and one told her to go to a Yoga Master to see if he could help her. Six weeks later she was pain free and she was completely sold on Yoga from that point.
