It's been a while hasn't it?
I took a total break from all tracking/Sparking during the summer.
I still ran and actually managed to finish a 10k for Team Diabetes in about 1hr30min!
I had to walk for a bit because it turns out I have fallen arches (plantars fasciitis) and it caused me to have problems running for a while. So I now have to wear arch supports in my shoes. I will probably get fitted for proper orthotics soon.
News - my husband has left me. Not really. He is just working away for the winter. He is about 6000 km away from me right now and will be back for Christmas, then away again until April 1st. I miss him terribly, but it has really helped me focus on myself and my health since he has been away. I don't really know what to do with myself on Friday nights, so I usually end up at the gym.
I did gain about 5lbs over the summer. I was up to about 197. But, in the past two weeks I have lost that and I'm at about 191-192 now. Basically where I started the summer at.
I've got my exercise calendar on the go and I've been following that strictly because I have it planned around my work schedule and my daughter's schedule so I can make sure to be home with her as much as possible.
This morning I went for a run and did 5k. This is the first time I've run since the 10k in August where I hurt myself. My left arch was hurting a bit today, so I've got to watch it. I will probably be calling to get an appointment at the podiatrist to get some professional orthotics soon.
I have also been hitting the gym and doing some strength training classes. I'm trying to do strength training 2-3 times per week. I have also started doing Zumba at my local fire hall/community centre. My gym offers Zumba, but it's so much more fun when you know most of the people that are going. I commute to the gym, so I don't know anyone there. On the other hand my sister, mother-in-law and a couple of friends have started going to Zumba so it's a blast!
My husband and I are getting pretty excited about having babies. We think we are going to start trying to conceive in July-August. I can't wait. I have so many friends having babies it has really given me baby fever. My best friend since grade 4 just had her baby in August and he is sooo cute...and growing like a lb a week, so everytime I see him he looks different. I try to get up there every weekend.
It's funny because my hubby wasn't really sure about having babies, but since he has this new great job out west he will be making more money...therefore he feels more secure. Plus, he is home from April to September/October so it's a lot of home time he is looking forward to.
OH YES...we got two kittens.
The baddest kittens ever.
After my dog and I went for our run today the kittens were outside. Hmmm...
I'm pretty sure they jumped through the living room window as the screen is ripped. lol
I'll be checking in more often! I've joined a new team on here for October and I'm hoping to lose 5lbs this month. My ultimate goal is to lose 15 lbs before Christmas. I think it's a very attainable goal.
