Two months in - my hair is transformed!

Sunday, October 02, 2011

Since I began my Spark journey two months ago, I have been eating only nutritious, unprocessed foods and as organically as I can. Tracking foods with the tracker, I began adding ground flax seed to my porridge every morning and ditching the sugar. It's surprising how quickly you get used to sugar free breakfast. I also eat broccoli at least twice a week and an apple every day, plus increasing my vegetables and upping the protein. Water is my only drink. six to eight glasses a day. I have a small bottle beside me all day which I keep refilling. (It's taken two months but I don't have to visit the loo quite as often as I did at the beginning)

Exercise-wise, for the first time in my life, I began regularly breaking into a sweat and increasing my heart-rate nearly every day with Leslie Sansone (She is AWESOME)

My hair is greying and a few months ago was definitely thinning. I could see a little pink on the scalp and googled for answers. Many places on the internet informed me that thinning and coarse hair is a result of ageing. So I resigned myself to my fate.

I'm not sure whether it is the flax seed, the protein, the exercise, the water or a combination of all , but when I look in the mirror I see thick, beautiful looking hair. The thinning has gone. They grey is much less coarse and soft to the touch. It needs washing less often too.

So any older ladies out there who think their thinning, coarse hair is an inevitable consequence of ageing, please don't give up yet. A tablespoon and a half of ground flax seed every day, lots of protein, broccoli, veg and fruit. Lose the nasty white flour and switch to brown rice. Drink your water and see if your hair isn't transformed in two months Sparking.

I would love to know if any of you have had a similar experience.

Thanks for listening x

I will try the flax seed. I have wondered the same about my hair, even wondered if it was normal or if it could even be thyroid. Flax is an easy and healthy thing to try.
