Rain, chilly and the smells of autumn
Saturday, October 01, 2011
On a different note, it is chilly, 42 degrees and raining, pulling lots of the just starting to turn leaves off the trees. The dogs are on the covered deck, enjoying the fresh air and all the KONGS and Nyla bones. I lit a new Scentsy warmer in the living room, it is a Jack-O-Lantern, with pumpkin and spice scent wax. I find the scents in the house lift my mood. Will have to consider turning on the heat. I protest every autumn, not just the growing bill, but it means I have to admit winter is coming. Just as it does every year. Time for weatherstripping and caulking, and rugs back down on bare floors. Though leaves are only just starting to turn on a few species, the smell of fall is in the air. Time for roasted veggies, soups and stews. The more I use the oven, the better it is in the house. Crockpot, here I come.
