Thanks for sharing your OctoberOverhaul. I needed to hear this because Iʻm in a serious slump - changing my priorities every day. Your cheerful message gives me some hope, especially since you admit to the times you didnʻt live up to your own expectations. I mostly think about the things I should have done rather than focus on my small achievements. Mahalo
I almost never wear shoes - tough feet. Sneakers make my feet feel like they are choking. I went to one of my favorite parks the other day, but the tiny, sharp gravel defeated me. So I went to another park and completed my walking barefoot. The next day I walked the first park with my vibrams (foot gloves) and it was great. I got some sketchers earlier to help with my balance. Hardly wore them - shoe allergy, yʻknow - but the clerk at REI said the "foot gloves" are even better for your balance. They feel great. If shoes are required for something, the best I can do is slippers (flip-flops), but these shoes are a close second to bare feet. In my culture, shoes are never worn in the house, but when Iʻm wearing these, I forget I have them on and will wear them for hours. Just hope I donʻt do it at someone elseʻs house.
Donʻt know if this is relevant to the discussion, but I enjoyed writing it.
I love the sound of "Operation October Overhaul"!! A great challenge to get some things in alignment. I like food/exercise/other stuff as components of a good challenge, too.
I am going to have to google the Vibram's. My older son is out in California and they are wearing them out there. I did hear you have to be careful with them, getting used to them - and you're saying that too. I heard plantar fasciitis can be a problem. Have you heard that? Glad the ankle is better and you're back in them. Loved your elliptical math, distance/hour! "I'm not doing this again!" LOL
