Met many Hero's in the past week

Thursday, September 29, 2011

I am working at a seasonal Inn, up state NY,for salmon season which is 7 weeks long..
We get many out of town people all men & there son's who love catching the big salmons that are in Salmon River..
Little did I know till last night while talking to a few guys at the restaurant that they are NYFD,YES they were very much a part in 911..

I met men who lost part of there team & some who just missed by a hair getting out of the first tower as it fell.

I am so HONORED to be cooking for these great men who searched for the people who lost there life's & ones who were saved..

I have learned that I will be meeting many more as this season goes on & YES I am very much looking for this..
OH I also handed out Sparkpeople, cards!! YES I sure did!
Some wanted them for them self others for there wives I told them that they both can do this together.

How exciting...that sends chills up my spine knowing that you were able to meet those brave men. How nice to serve those who gave and continue to give so much!

Hi Chris
What a beautiful blog. That would be such a honor to meet these heroes. Each one of them did their best trying to save others.
It is nice that you will meet more before the season is over.
I think it is great that you passed out Spark cards, that was a good idea.

Thank you for sharing

How wonderful that you have met some great heros of this USA, and be able to serve them their meals. WTG on sharing sparks with them too.

How blessed to hear first hand the stories of a horrific tragedy. I'm glad you had the opportunity to serve those who serve the community. It's almost like giving back in a small way. emoticon emoticon
