When Pigs Fly?!

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Yep I'm gonna do it! A marathon!

I really need to go to bed but I wanted to post this real quick :)

It's just over a week since I ran the half. I'm sitting here with one missing toenail and another about to fall off, a sore knee and a pulled hamstring, but I can't be more excited to say that I'm going to start training for a marathon! Yes, pigs DO fly! And this is why I'm leaning towards the Flying Pig marathon as my first. Have you seen their medals?! 'Nuff said.

Seriously though, I haven't completely decided yet which one I'm going to do, and I'm definitely open to suggestions. I'd prefer something within driving distance of Eastern PA, but I'm not ruling anything out.

So who's got suggestions? Advice? I'm all ears!

Thanks everyone! I was hoping to have time to respond to you all individually today but it was crazy insane at work, and now I have to pass out so I can do it again tomorrow, heh. At least tomorrow is my Friday and I have a long weekend! Woohoo!

SO excited for you!!!!! That contagious-gotta-tell-people-now-de
tails-later feeling? Love that!!!

I'm doing my first half this weekend, locally, with Disney being my "real" goal. If you like travel, pick a town that rocks. :) If you like local, look around. is an easy-to-use event search engine. If you like flat, the Wineglass in Corning might be the ticket - it's even downhill actually! :)

I've got to get thru my first 2 (hopefully) before deciding on the next one . . . but I don't see a marathon in my future. I'm not a natural runner like you. It's not that I don't think I can, just that I don't want to run for 6 hrs!

But I can live vicariously thru you.
