Rationalizing my weigh to healthy living

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

So last night I told my husband about my change in thought process about weight loss - how going to the Medifast center was counter-intuitive to long-term health, how I had been feeling weak and depressed despite losing weight on Medifast. I haven't felt like exercising with few exceptions and when I have, I have had several episodes of weakness that I attribute to low calorie intake. How much exertion can one put in to exercising on 800-1000 calories a day? I've also wondered how I can consume such a low calorie amount and NOT lose weight unless my thyroid is affected by the increased soy protein in the Medifast diet. Everything together kept whispering at me - not healthy for you. I crave fruit and vegetables and grains and legumes, not french fries and hot fudge sundaes! So I am choosing to stop going to the Medifast Center. If this is a rationalization, then fine. I'm also choosing to proceed on a different path - Spark People. I'm reading The Spark and I'm working the plan - one day at a time. So for today, I offer my most humble gratitude to the Spark Guy and his wonderful team for creating this virtual space and helping so many to see the possibilities and reach their goals one spark at a time! emoticon
