The 3 P's (and it's not potatoes, peas and popcorn!)

I was looking for quotes to hang around the house to motivate me, maybe to share with others here. Something to get me reved up. And I found this quote and really liked it.
Patience - we all want instant gratification and how many times, and how much money have we spent in trying to get that gratification? "If you buy our weight loss pills you'll lose 20 pounds in a week!" "If you use our gadget 3 times a week for 5 minutes you will lose 10 inches in your waist in a month". Impatience is my greatest weakness. This 85 pounds just didn't jump on this body, and it's going to take even longer to fall off. Patience is a virtue and I need to always keep this in my mind.
Persistence - how guilty am I of trying something and saying to myself "oh this just doesn't work" and not really give it a fair shot? Or how often do I start a diet, an exercise plan, to just give it up 3 days later? Did I give it a chance? Not even close! I need to be as persistent with my weight loss and exercise as I am with my job. Monday through Friday I go to work. Sunday through Saturday I need to eat healthy and exercise and be just as tenacious with my health as I am with my paycheck.
Perspiration - I hate to sweat! Makes me all blotchy and cranky and stinky. You can lose weight and not have to perspire. But without that perspiration the skin will sag, the tush will droop (or get droopier), the results will take even longer. I need to learn to love to feel that trickle of sweat going down the back of my neck. I need to embrace exercising and the rewards that come with perspiring.
