Fun on wheels!

I had forgotten how much fun roller skating is!

My daughter talked the wife and me into skating with her. I was just a little frightened by the idea. It has been over 30 years since I have been on skates. I put my skates on and watch while Morgan takes her class. She is skating backwards through the cones and gliding down on one skate. When her class is done she comes over to collect us. It is the moment of truth, I have to step out on the floor. I am a little wobbly, but within moments I get the feel of it and and am flying around the rink and zipping between skaters. I look around to find my missing family and spot them in the middle of the rink skating backwards and spinning around in circles. I once again feel like an amateur as my wife nails a little backwards jump and spin. After about 3 hours my daughter lets me know Mom is hurt. I go and collect my wife who has thrown out her knee doing tricks like she is a teenager. She gets her knee cap back in place and all had a great time even if she is going to be sore for a few days. So for the foreseeable future it looks like skating every week is going to be a part of my cardio routine.

Now I remember why we had another child, they keep you young. Now if I can just stop this one from becoming a teenager :)

Skating is great exercise. But for me...dunno! Knees and legs are pretty fragile. I'd better stick with water exercises! Chris emoticon

Great! I used to love roller skating, and I probably would again with a little practice. Have a good day.

Sounds like you had a great time! Well done :-)
I want to buy a pair of ice skates when we relocate, and outdoor skating will be part of my routine :-) emoticon
