This is the second day of my return to tracking my food. I tried to stop tracking and eat normally, but failed to eat healthy amounts of food. I noticed that my portion size kept creeping up until it was twice the amount it should be, and I started eating extra food at night. All the food was healthy, but eaten in unhealthy amounts! It seems I am unable to make the transition to tracking only once a week. I need that daily discipline of tracking to keep me from overeating!
I am not discouraged. This just means that I am not yet ready to make this transition. I will continue to track daily for another week and see how it goes. On the bright side, I weighed myself this morning and recorded a weight of 144.0 pounds, an new personal best for me. this is the lowest I have ever weighed! WooHoo!
Yesterday I bought a cheap bookcase at Walmart for just $16. It was such a good bargain that I could not pass it up. I had a great time assembling it at home with my hammer and screwdrivers. It looks so good in my living room, and now I have a happy place to put my books, which are accumulating. I thought that when I got a Kindle, I would switch to reading only ebooks. Was I wrong! There is still nothing like having a paper book in your hands and turning the pages. WooHoo!
I am reading a book called Intuitive Eating (Kindle app on my phone). It may help you work it out. SO far I am still in the beginning phases of it, but I just can't diet anymore after almost 25 years of it!! I am tying to focus more on fitness and being active and eating things that I want but that make me feel good (IE PALEO!) 1973 days ago
I also find the daily tracking keeps me more accountable.. kind of the same thing as actually weighing my food as opposed to "guestimating" it. I am a bad guestimater.. I suspect I will end up having to track daily and weigh food when possible for the rest of my life.. For me..weight creeps back on sooo much easier than it comes off.. Gotta agree with you on the books versus Kindle too.. the e-readers are nice but just not the same !! I bet your bookshelf looks great with the books on it.. books add a certain sense of "home" to a place (in my opinion anyway..lol( ..
I was going to mention last week that there's nothing wrong about tracking your food daily. It's so easy for portions to grow when we're not tracking. If tracking food daily keeps us healthy, then I'm doing it!
