I know you posted this a few weeks ago, but I can relate to what you said about your father. It was hard to feel like I disappointed my parents, but now not only do I feel like I am making them proud...I am making myself proud! :)

and you will too!!

PS your English is fine!! :)

Welcome and Congratulation!!! Once I put my mind to it I started losing weight and you will to and I agree with WINACHIST, sometimes us parents want so much for our children that sometimes we hurt them without even realizing it.

Good luck to you!

HI and Welcome! Spark People is a great place to be for encouragement and support - to give as well as receive. Sometimes it is difficult to tell someone you love they are overweight. Awhile back my daughter told me she wanted to lose weight and I was so happy she finally made the decision to start eating better that I started giving her books, referred her to Spark People etc. and then she started to complain that I was always telling her she was fat.

So, don't be discouraged about your father's remark, I am sure it was said out of concern for you.
Best wishes and emoticon

Your blog was awesome!! Thank you so much for posting it. It's actually the first video blog I've looked at on Spark.

I was really touched about the story about your dad. I have the same close relationship with my father and, like your dad, he probably would only make a comment to my mom rather than me so as not to hurt me. I started crying as you said how that broke your heart. And I would venture a guess to say that your dad is concerned about your health and genuinely wants you to be a healthy and happy person, right?

I know that you will succeed in what you want to do and in a year you will look back on this video and wonder who that unhappy person was. I know that every day you're going to make better choices and work on small, baby steps to being healthier and happier. I believe in you!!!

Thanks again for the blog! And your english is great!!
