I know I could post this on SparkRecipe, but I thought instead I would do it here. It's simple really and was easy to work into one of my snacks. For some reason, now that it is fall I have a certain nostalgia about certain foods, like Hot Chocolate and S'mores. Yet, I am also aware of how easy things like this can get out of control with calories. Add too many marshmallows you are looking at hundreds of high sugar calories, but as always moderation is the key.
So here are a few tips that made my s'mores snack possible:
1: Hershey's Dark Chocolate 1/4 of a bar
2: Single graham cracker broken in half
3: 1/8 cup of marshmallows (It doesn't take a lot)
4: Kitchen Torch
First things first, I place the chocolate on the graham cracker and melt the chocolate till just warm with the torch. Immediately after I smush the marshmallows into the chocolate and then torch them like I would at a camp fire. Viola, place the top graham cracker piece and you are done. Drink a nice cup of mint tea with it and there is a semi-guilt free indulgence.
For a little adjustment, instead of melting dark chocolate, you could use Nutella. A little nutella goes a long way with its nice nutty flavor.
So far, by managing everything within calorie range as much as possible I am still losing weight. I finally went below the 160 mark. I think I am going to celebrate with a run.
