Stretching even when I don't want to

I now have a daily habit of stretching - I'm very proud of myself! For most of my life hated stretching because I wasn't very good at it. I'm still not good at it - still about as flexible as old, dried wood. But - I should still try! In fact even more reason to give it a good try every day. I keep hoping I will get more flexible. Maybe I've gotten a smudge more flexible, it's hard to tell. But, I'm forging ahead. And now I'm off to do my stretches!

    After a good warm up of course. You just don't start stretching, you have to warm those cold muscles up. I love yoga cause the warming up & then the actual movements & they should always show alternate moves in class/dvd.

    Stretches are very important. I stretch every day. I didn't and my calves tightened up until they couldn't tighten any more and then it cause tearing. Much more painful then stretches.
    I think stretches also helps with aches and pains as we get older. Keep doing your stretches. You might get more flexible but the thing to remember is by doing stretches you won't become stiff or lose mobility.
    As my doctor told me, it is much harder to undo the damage created by not stretching than it is to maintain the flexibility you have by stretches.
