I'm feeling more confident about this challenge. I've done one, and so I know what to expect. I've mentally prepared myself for what lies ahead. I know that losing the 5% of my body weight is the ultimate goal, but it isn't the only one. And realistically, I know that the next 10 pounds will come off slowly, and only if I really stick to my plan. That has been a struggle, for sure. I can get the fitness minutes in. I crave those fitness minutes! But sticking to my calorie range can be a big challenge.
So, my focus is not going to be on the weight loss. I would LOVE to lose the 5%, but I won't consider myself a failure if I don't. Here are my goals:
1. To get as many fitness minutes as I can. I'm not working, and I have the time. I plan to do 120 minutes of cardio 5 days a week. On Wednesday, I will do full body strenth training, and then use my treadmill to get the rest of the 120 minutes. If I don't have time on Saturday, I'll shoot for Sunday. I need one day of rest, and the ST days really will be an active recovery. I am so good at Sparking, and it consumes too much of my time. SO, I will get the exercise in before I even turn on the computer. (That started today.)
2. To stay in my calorie range. This will be easier because I have tweaked my exercise routine to something that I truly enjoy, and not something I dread. As a result, I burn more calories, and I can eat more! I still will aim for 1 pound loss per week, and hope it happens!
3. If I eat it, I log it. Oh, man, if I suddenly disappear, you know I have gone haywire. I can scarf down chips, cookies, whatever, in no time flat. And then I am like a little kid hiding with a dirty diaper. I know I messed up, and I just don't log it. Just because it isn't on SP doesn't mean it didn't happen! So, I urge you to check my "Shared Food and Fitness Trackers." Spark Stalk me! Hold me accountable!
So, there's my plan! I had fun watching our fitness minutes and Living the Good Life points add up on the last challenge. I really did feel like I was letting my team down when I didn't put in my time. I think this challenge will be awesome!
