I've been on spark since January 2007....the year I got married.
Last September 20th was the day that I logged onto sparkpeople daily. I haven't seen GREAT success like other sparkers, but at least being on this site daily keeps me on track. Instead of gaining 16.2 lbs in a year, I lost 16.2 lbs. That 16 pounds made me feel much better about myself.
Also, during the past year, I started and finished Insanity and had some great results with a 9 pound weight loss and 9 inch loss.
I also ran my first 10K in July. Took me 1h and 15 minutes....a little long for my taste, but at least I did it!!
Because of SP, I was all motivated to run a half marathon in October, but I had to abandon that dream for now.
I was lucky enough to be on maternity for the past 15 months and had lots of time to exercise. I just started back work 3 weeks ago....I teach school. I never anticipated how hard it would be to get up early, get two kids ready, drive 30 minutes to school, be on my feet all day, drive back home, get the kids, make supper, bath time, bed time, dishes and keeping up with laundry.....by 8 pm...running was the last thing on my mind. Training for that HM just made me hate running because it was tooooo time consuming.
I took all of last week off. I am starting to settle into my routine. I will surely run this week but instead for running an hour with a tired back and body, I will run for 30 minutes 2-3 weeks and be happy about it and not feel like it's a chore.
We are starting a weight loss club at school. I think this will give me back the motivation I need to lose some more pounds.
A year from now, I will blog about running another 10K and my first HM!
I will also write that I lost an additional 25 pounds :)
