A frustrating day....

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

Today was tough....

Was sick like crazy last night, up every 1/2 hour or so...felt like the flu. Bowed out of work, and hit the doc with the other half sandwich in hand....she said food poisoning...if the sandwich confirms it, there will be an investigation into the restaurant.

Talked to Don, and he was sooooooo upset. He got a message that the bone marrow harvest scheduled for Wednesday is not going to happen because the anesthesiologist is worried his mediastinal mass can make him stop breathing through the process. If they had told me that 2 weeks ago, it would have been fine, but last week, they told us that the mass was pretty much gone...who is lying?????

His new schedule gets moved back by another week, he will be having a stem cell harvest (they told us they did not want to do this because it wasn't as successful), and then get his final round of chemo. We just need people to be honest with us. Can't process what we don't know.

He has requested a meeting with his case doc tomorrow....hoping that will yield something better than what we have.

Praying for a better day tomorrow.

Im so sorry you guys are havin such a rough go... It really is hard. After goin through the cancer battle a couple of times, I really believe that most of the docs just guess their way through the treatments, it always was so frustrating because it always feels like they are guesstimating.

Hang in here, BIG HUGS and deep breaths! Sending positive vibes, thoughts and prayers your way.

I pray for ANSWERS and ACCURATE information!!! I'm so sorry for what you're going through and am keeping you and Don so close in thought & prayer!

I've had only one bout of food poisoning & passed out cold on my kitchen floor. The sickest I've been in my life. I'm sooooooo glad you kept the other half of the sandwich! Good for you; you may well save someone else from serious illness!

I love ya girlfriend; & like so many you've inspired :) here for ya... always!

Trish-you're so right. Information is the key to dealing with anything. Lack of information leads to unnecessary fears and worries.
So, my prayers will be with thru this day and beyond. Please tell Don that this strange woman from Michigan is praying for both of you. (and I do mean 'strange'-LOL!)
Big hugs to you ,darling. I hope you're feeling better after than heinous sandwich experience. See, if you would have chowed on that whole thing, there'd be no evidence. Yet another bonus to eathing right. :)

"Can't process what we don't know"

What I tell people to combat fear, is to gain more information. When your information comes from two credible sources, but conflicts, now what? I hope your case doctor can provide some answers today hon. I'm about to head out for a run, and you can be sure that I'll be praying for you and your family during that time.

I cannot even imagine what the two of you must be going through. This is an awful situation to be in. I am anxious (to say the least) to hear what the doc says when you meet with him.

Thoughts and hugs to you both!!!!
